Job Description

Oma Bikes, a community-focused cycling store in Fulham, London, is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Bike Mechanic to join our team. As a Bike Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing a wide range of bicycles, ensuring customer satisfaction and providing exceptional service.

Responsibilities:

  • Bicycle Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as tune-ups, wheel truing, brake adjustments, and gear adjustments.

  • Repairs: Diagnose and repair various bicycle components, including frames, forks, wheels, drivetrains, and brakes.

  • Overhauls: Conduct complete overhauls of bicycles, including stripping, cleaning, inspecting, and reassembling components.

  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs, offering advice on bike maintenance, and building positive relationships.

  • Teaching Bike Maintenance: Teaching classes and sessions on bicycle maintenance to the public in the workshop and to classes in schools.

  • Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records of bicycle parts and tools.

  • Shop Maintenance: Contribute to a clean and organized work environment.

Skills/Experience Required

  • Proven experience as a Bike Mechanic or similar role.

  • Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of bicycle components and repair techniques.

  • Cytech 2 certification or equivalent.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.

  • A passion for cycling and a willingness to help others on their cycling journey.
