Job Description
To oversee the smooth running of the retail facing workshop.
- Jointly manage repairs in and out, with a focus on ensuring prompt and comprehensive customer communication.
- Manage the workshop diary to maximise productivity.
- Carrying out repair and servicing work efficiently and to current high standards.
- Assisting the retail manager to ensure stock levels of workshop spares are maintained.
- Jointly responsible for opening the store.
To ensure customer communication is maintained to the highest possible level.
- Use systems already in place to make sure work undertaken is recorded and communicated to customer.
To identify and improve ways of working with the aim of making the repair and service process as efficient and profitable as possible.
- Using and updating operating procedures as and when problems arise, and ways of working thought up to avoid re-occurring problems.
- Identifying time heavy jobs and finding ways to charge for time appropriately or to shorten time spent on similar work.
To maintain the retail workshop space to current high standards.
- One of the shops draws is its presentation, despite being a ten year old workshop based business the front workshop and retail space is as fresh and presentable as the day we opened, as such an eye for detail and cleanliness is required.
Skills/Experience Required
You will need either the relevant Cytech or equivalent qualifications or demonstrable mechanical experience.
Previous Experience within the cylce industry at a retail level is essential.
Most of all you will need to be proactive and display a desire to learn and develop within the business.
HOURS
A four-day working week, with a three-day weekend.
Weekday hours, Weds to Fri 7.45am to 6pm.
Saturday 8.45am to 6pm.
Potential to switch 1 Saturday per month to Tuesday
Base salary of £26k to £28k plus bonus of 5% of previous months profit.
22 days paid holiday.
